HANOI – Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) is looking for cooperation opportunities to become a strategic partner of PetroVietnam (PVN), said a top KPC leader.
The two sides should further enhance their cooperation in a variety of areas such as oil and gas exploration, petroleum product manufacturing, crude oil and LPG procurement, he said.
The minister said he expected PVN to join forces to supply oil and gas, as well as human resources services in Kuwait. One of the key projects with the involvement of PVN and KPC is Nghi Son Oil Refinery Joint-Venture in Thanh Hoa.
Discussing the future cooperation possibility between the two partners, PVN chairman Dinh La Thang said: “PVN is willing to collaborate with partners in Kuwait in oil and gas, electricity, real estate and others.”
Thang said he was pinning hopes on stronger cooperation with KPC in oil and gas exploration projects in Kuwait.
Minister Al-Sabah said that in the next few weeks, Kuwait would be granting 10 scholarships to PVN experts to take training courses in Kuwait.
Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdulla Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Monday paid a courtesy visit to State President Nguyen Minh Triet and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. He also met with Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang.
He is scheduled to visit the Nghi Son Oil Refinery project site today and tomorrow to find out ways to boost the progress of the project.
